Microsoft re-invents the smartphone keyboard
Microsoft is planning to bring a version of its Windows Phone keyboard to iOS and iPhone users, with the firm said to be testing an early version already.
According to The Verge, the new keyboard isn’t yet with any public testers, but once it is it will also come with a one-handed mode for typing quickly on the move.
Windows’ own version of the keyboard does also come with a one-handed mode, but according to reports this iOS version will be more flexible, with the keyboard able to be moved around the screen to suit what’s comfortable to the user and curving out from the corner, rather than the Windows version that simply compacts to one side of the screen.

Twitter screenshots have also suggested that while this project might not yet have a planned release date, it does have a name – WordFlow.
And yes, there will be emojis when the app launches, which is expected to be some time in the next few months, with an Android version later this year.
What do you think of the keyboard’s curved shape? Would it make typing easier? Let us know in the Comments section below.
