It’s almost an event! While Logitech has not launched a new webcam since 2012 (almost) the Swiss manufacturer remembers the existence of this market and unveils the C922, a webcam designed for streamers.
Logitech has a new webcam in the year 2016, an update is necessary and expected from the C920 to the C922. Logitech is far from everything reinvented. The manufacturer actually uses the chassis of the C920 and replaces some elements like the colour blue diodes that are now illuminated in white. Apart from these meagre cosmetic changes include the same fold-up mechanism with thread and a USB 2.0 connection.
Logitech brand is thus displayed on the C922 filming in 1080p at 30 frames per second while filming in 720p at 30 frames/second. But also, and this is the main novelty, at 60 frames/second. The C922 camera has an integrated microphone and Logitech pound with a tabletop tripod that will enhance a little over 18 centimetres.
Logitech adds a dynamic back plane replacement software: so that you can shoot you and embed your person on your video games for example. That is why the C922 is intended for streamers. The C922 recognizes shapes to individual players from their background, so gamers can then overlay video of themselves streaming with other broadcasting apps, like XSplit.
Also, note that the C922 is now managed by the LGS driver Logitech though originally intended for gaming devices. Therefore we find the few camera settings in the LGS as those already found in the C920 for one or two versions of the Logitech Gaming Software.
