Apple has finally joined Amazon, Facebook, Google, IBM and Microsoft in the ‘Partnership on AI’.

The aim of all these companies is to develop artificial intelligence with head and so that it does not escape from our hands.

Apple joins the big alliance about artificial intelligence. Artificial intelligence (AI) is an opportunity, but also a danger. For large technology companies or for visionaries who live there. For that reason, Amazon, Facebook, Google, IBM and Microsoft last September establishing a strategic alliance called English ‘ Partnership on AI ‘.

In this list of companies are missing some great manufacturers such as Samsung, Huawei and others. But this is not at all issue, because they manufacture the devices with mentioned five founding members. Those companies will have more strong control on the way to follow.

The problem is missing software developers, who ultimately are the ones who develop artificial intelligence. In this sense, it lacked a very, very important name: Apple.

However, Tim Cook seems to have rectified and Apple eventually will become part of the group of founders of this important alliance. Thus, the parents of Siri form one of the halves of the directive together with the other five large companies. The other half will consist of experts in artificial intelligence from different universities in the United States.

The first meeting of this super group will take place in February, according to sources close to the process, but it is unclear what they will talk about or whether they will come to any agreement to develop their different forms of artificial intelligence according to common guidelines.

In August, Apple acquired a company specializing in the development of neural networks called Turi and hired in October a mythical professor Russ Salakhutdinov to lead his department of development of artificial intelligence.

AI applications are beginning to gain strength in areas outside of computing: is it possible to identify cancer enhance images, put smiles in photographs and many other applications. Now, they can inherit human prejudice is something worrying too.
